Why We Wander

Why do we travel? What motivates us to explore unfamiliar places? How do our values, experiences, and identities shape the journeys we take?

Understanding the Motivations, Meanings, and Experiences That Shape Travel

Travel begins long before a reservation is made or a suitcase is packed.

It begins with curiosity.

A desire to experience something unfamiliar. To understand a place, a culture, or a way of life different from our own. To celebrate, reconnect, explore, learn, or simply see the world through a different lens.

While destinations may change, the motivations behind travel are remarkably consistent. We seek discovery, connection, growth, restoration, and meaning. We travel to experience the world but often return having learned something about ourselves as well.

Why We Wander explores the ideas, behaviors, and motivations that shape the journeys we take and the memories we bring home.
